The Spanish Association of Museologists (AEM: Asociación Española de Museólogos) is a national nonprofit cultural association. It was accredited on 3 November 1993 and is managed by volunteers.

The overall objectives of the association are to provide information about the museologist profession and spread the principals of museology; to encourage the technical improvement of museologists through research and education activities; to serve as a link for all museologists, both professionals as well as docents, so as to connect all Spanish museologists with their colleagues in the international community. Definitively, the association strives to help in the consolidation of the museological institution.

AEM achieves these objectives through the following activities:

• The organization of seminars, continuing education classes, specialized courses, study commissions, and attendance at conventions.

• The establishment of a documents center that collects publications, books, and audiovisual materials related to museums.

• The promotion of visits to museums and study trips.

• The publication of a professional scientific magazine for the international community.

• The publication of a NEWSLETTER with general news and training courses on museums news.

The Magazine of Museology (Revista de Museología) is a Spanish scientific magazine, specializing in museums. Prestigious professionals, both national and foreign, contribute to the magazine.
The audience for this magazine consists of museum professionals, museum suppliers, friends of museums, and students interested in the world of museums.
